• Lead a team of gradates and undertook a research study on Rural Cumulative Poverty in 412 villages in Tamilnadu in 1975 and a report was brought out on findings.

• A monograph had been brought out under the guidance of Shri.Tej Narayanan in Hyderabad in early 1976 with the technical support of the Administrative Staff College, Hyderabad for assessing the cumulative poverty hit villages

• Selected  poorest of the poor villages and initiated development intervention based on the study

• Implemented center based Adult Education Centres and continuation of Adult Literacy, Non formal Education for the school dropouts, Child labourers in 100 canters in Tamilnadu and Andrapradesh.

• Pilot Project covering an illiterate population of around25,000 all the three phases of Total Literacy Campaign, Post Literacy Campaign and Continuing Education Project.

• Initiated Self Help groups’ credit programme for vegetable vendors in mid seventies. Started Pre-primary Schools, Nutrition and parents education as focus. Responded Relief operations for major cyclone and floods of 1977 in Trichy, Nagapatinam of Tamilnadu and in the coastal Districts of Andrapradesh.

• Responded the homeless due to the cyclone of 1977 with cost effective community based permanent houses for around 1000 families. Established a energy saving centre for buildings construction, Watershed and Village Agro-cattle rearing knowledge centre and economic farming.

• Waterseds/Rainwater harvesting improvement.
  Designed Rainwater harvesting structures for proper utilization, it mitigates water shortages, controls flooding and drastically decreases the load on sewage systems.

• Good Soil and water conservation measures undertaken such as: bunding, trenching, boulder checks, gully checks, silt traps, vegetative measures, tree planting.

• Completed 67 RWH projects:12 check dams

• 21 percolation tanks

• 118 farm ponds

• 218 gullies repaired

• Tsunami affected Land Reclamation: in the reclamation of more than 1000 acres of land through the application organic based approaches in 12 villages, desalination of 24 ponds, de-silting of 9 km of drainage canals influencing the reclamation process of agricultural lands in Karaikal Region.

• SEVAI has undertaken 500 hundred arces for Bio-dynamics agriculture which refers to the agriculture science that recognizes basic principles at work in nature and applies this knowledge of life forces to bring about balance and healing in the soil. In other words, it recognizes the biological value in the soil, as well as, the chemical values - hence, bio-dynamic agriculture.

• Literacy Curriculum Development for Non-formal Education under IPCL for the illiterate, semiliterate disadvantaged population.

• Regional Resource Center for promotion of traditional media - Developed resource teams of  Village Youth and Women for disseminating IEC Components in performing street pays in  traditional media such in the area of  HIV/AIDS Prevention, target intervention, care and support and livelihood promotion etc..and also key areas.

• Implementing a special Family counseling for the women Prison inmates in Central Prison in Trichy and also their members of the families

• Promoted Community based Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education for the Disabled children and also adults covering a population of 5000 such categories.

DEVELOPMENT

• Nominated to serve as the member to the sub-group on "participation of people in programme and planning" as well as a member in the sub-group on "power and function to Municipal Administration system and the role of IEC in Health and Hygiene for the urban population".

• Convener-Member in the State Level Reform Committee constituted by Government of India to suggest the reforms in the area of Development in connection with a project on "50thyear of Indian Republic". A detailed report has been submitted as a supportive document.
