  • Lead a team of gradates and undertook a research study on Rural Cumulative Poverty in 412 villages in Tamilnadu in 1975 and a report was brought out on findings.

  • A monograph had been brought out under the guidance of Shri.Tej Narayanan in Hyderabad in early 1976 with the technical support of the Administrative Staff College, Hyderabad for assessing the cumulative poverty hit villages

  • Selected  poorest of the poor villages and initiated development intervention based on the study

  • Implemented center based Adult Education Centres and continuation of Adult Literacy, Non formal Education for the school dropouts, Child labourers in 100 canters in Tamilnadu and Andrapradesh.

  • Pilot Project covering an illiterate population of around25,000 all the three phases of Total Literacy Campaign, Post Literacy Campaign and Continuing Education Project.

  • Initiated Self Help groups’ credit programme for vegetable vendors in mid seventies. Started Pre-primary Schools, Nutrition and parents education as focus. Responded Relief operations for major cyclone and floods of 1977 in Trichy, Nagapatinam of Tamilnadu and in the coastal Districts of Andrapradesh.

  • It is conducted periodic counseling session of then women victims adopting methods like Individual Counseling and Group Counseling which shall promote them to come out their problems.

  • The relationship between counselor and counselee viz~ Transparency, Mutuality Dialogue and Meta-Communication. The therapies that are given through counseling are: Cognitive Therapy, Supportive Therapy.

  • The process of counseling involves identification of the problem, identifying causes of the problem. It is SEVAI teams experience that participation and confidentially is highly significant in the counseling process.
